In our first New Zealand project, we designed and installed the first ever clip-on pedestrian walkway and cycleway. It was added to the Chesterhope Bridge and made from our innovative Composite Fibre Technology (CFT) product. Located on the outskirts of Hastings City, situated in the lovely Hawke’s Bay region, straddling the Ngaruroro river is the 460m long 2 traffic lane wide, Chesterhope Bridge.
The bridge now has the added advantage of a clip-on pedestrian walkway and cycleway providing the community with a safe passage. The connection weighs in at a mere 110kg per linear metre, this meant the walkway was installed using minimal machinery. It also significantly reduced road closure times and traffic for the community. Most importantly though this bridge has a 100 year design life.
