Wagners Cement Grinding Plant, located at Pinkenba on the Brisbane River, has now been commissioned and is scheduled to commence commercial production in March 2009. The grinding facility, product storage silos, administration building and 55 000 tonnes of temporary storage for raw materials comprise stage one of Wagners Port of Brisbane Project. Stages two and three, which will be staggered from 2010 to 2012, will include a permanent clinker storage facility, wharf for the import of raw materials, a second mill and additional storage facilities.
Wagners Cement is the only independently owned Cement Grinding plant in Queensland. Wagners Cement clearly demonstrates the philosophy which has resulted in the Wagner Group of Companies growing to a force to be reckoned with in the construction materials industry. That philosophy is to simply offer the best quality products and outstanding customer service.
Wagners Cement achieves this through their highly trained and experienced group of technical and operations staff. All staff employed at Wagners Cement possess extensive experience in the production and design of a range of cement blends.
Wagners technical staff are happy to provide assistance with the design of concrete mixes. The state of the art laboratory on site at the Pinkenba plant provides a range of chemical and physical testing for compliance purposes and to meet customer requirements.
Wagners specialise in a number of green blends that utilise a range of supplementary cementitious materials including industrial by products such as flyash and slag. These blends may provide a number of benefits including improved workability, durability performance, pumpability and placeability during concrete pours. In addition to these benefits the use of these blends result in a significantly lower level of greenhouse gas emissions.
Wagners position as Queensland’s only independent producer provides a high level of flexibility in the area of mix design. Staff are happy to talk to customers regarding mixes and blends that may be required for specialist projects.
