Construction is currently underway on a $125 million cement grinding plant on a 57 000m2 vacant site on the riverfront within the industrial precinct of the Port of Brisbane.
A concrete plant is currently operating from the site to service both the project construction and external clients. The site will also include storage for the extraction, under licence, of fine sand from Moreton Bay.
The Port of Brisbane project is the company’s large single investment in SE Queensland to date, and will supply cement to support the projected $80 billion construction boom in the region over the next 20 years.
Wagners Cement will be the only independently owned Queensland cement producer supplying the local market.
